what the crap was that last post about anyway
We went as a family to the fireworks show tonight, no pictures because it is Grantsville, there would be the possibility of ugly naked dancing in the background.
So our kids had fun, cousins had fun, glow sticks, chips, grapes, blanket, and yes bang, boom, pop, and some crashes. Lots of lights, and smoke, no real bad traffic and as a finale what was that last post about? I don't know, maybe it was the combination of things.
Anyway hope your 4Th of July was a bang too!

Today I ate a grand total of 5 bratwursts throughout the day...to me that seems like a lot, but it is a holiday, so I find myself ok with it. We saw fireworks at the Bees game...Kristen, Steve, Alyssa and Sunny were there too as well as the rest of our family. They play "patriotic" music which I guess is to evoke an emotional response...it did not do so for me, though it is always good to hear Tom Petty's "American Girl" and the Violent Femmes "American Music." I really did not know that the Violent Femmes made "patriotic" music, but I guess they did. In an awkward finale they played Whitney Houston's rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner." I don't particularly care for her, her husband, or her music by the way. But, about half the crowd stood and put their hand on their heart and the other half was like: "should I be standing and putting my hand on my heart?????"
Weird...
Anyway, your blog makes me laugh cause your posts are random and that is a good thing. Too many blogs/bloggers take themselves too seriously which ends up being boring. Sorry to leave a long comment...
mmm...bratwurst. We had patriotic music as well. Some sort of '30's recording with sound and someone trying to sing something that I am sure had to deal with the fact the July 4th was a time of celebration. From where we were camped you couldn't here anything anyway. At least you could pin point what the song was and who was singing. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Hi Dave,
Yes we had a very quiet day...Gary did feel good...I went and saw the city fireworks they were bad...then came home and Gary and I sat in the swing he held me and watched the neighbors fireworks...We know thats the cheep way to do it....we have no kids and I enjoyed every min....Love U all Heather
Unlike Bob, I did stand while Whitney sang our nations anthem. It took me a few minutes though becasue I also wasn't sure if it was necessary...I didn't see the flag marching in or anything. I finally decided after most people were standing that the flag must be marching in. As it turned out, me and everyone else were just sheep. Following what one sheep did.
For the record I only ate one hamburger.(but I did it two and a half brownies). Thank God for our founding fathers.
Regarding the national anthem, I think it is polite to stand for it, regardless of who is singing it. And I am still of the Bingham mindset that you should not applaud after it (or was that the school hymn?) Also, did you know the national anthem was a poem set to the tune of an English drinking song? Thought you might enjoy that tidbit. Also, it always makes me cry when I hear it.
Regarding your last post: Dude, I have no idea. That is a state of mind I have become accostomed to since marrying you and I have to say I don't mind it; it's better than being a freakish adherer to rules and regulations like I used to be.
ps what were you eating because the mouse is all greasy?
I love that the two of you communicate over your blog, when you could easily do it during pillow talk.
Misty: Dude what are you eating, the mouse is all greasy.
Dave: Dave made me hurgry for bratwurst. So I ate some chip with it.
Misty: Well wipe it off next time.
Dave: You do it Woman, now go make me a pie.
I meant Bob made me hurgry for Bratwurst
Kristin,
You know us all too well! Misty makes the best pie. Had a great time seeing everyone again until the late night hours. Good times.
